MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 485

Welcome to the 485th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the final puzzle of November. The winner will receive TWO MP3 download codes courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of both mystery clips, which are connected by a theme. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. Stay safe!

Hint: No Billy Preston sit-ins on these jams.

Answer: Congrats to @raisinsnacks on their fourth MJM win, hereby crossing the halfway mark to the MJM Hall of Fame! This week, they quickly used the hint (which pointed at the wonderful new Peter Jackson Beatles documentary, Get Back) to identify the two jams with Beatles teases in them: 4/4/94 "It's Ice" and 2/22/19 "Mercury." MJM486 is up...

I'm assuming it'll be 9 PM EST tonight, the post says the MJM closes tomorrow at 9 so I'd assume the hint is at 9 tonight

Great It’s Ice. Mike goes completely off at the tail end. Solid versions of Divided Sky, Reba, and Possum as well in that first set. I also love that If I Could in the 2nd set. Trey absolutely rips it. And you can’t go wrong with a Wolfman’s with horns.

And the encore includes the "Arkansas 76 Duke 72" national championship score update. I'm an Arkansas grad, so this show is obviously a sentimental favorite for me.

Nice. I actually listened to the 1st set this morning. At the beginning of Maze, you can hear a young woman yell “Corona” repeatedly. What a prescient mind… or she could have been just been relating her beer order to the poor schmo who would soon be stuck missing that hot version while waiting in line to retrieve said beer.

uctweezer huge debuts 4/4/94 - always loved the "back in my hometown" a cappella opener > DSky - I must've listened to that show 100 times in college, one of the first SHN filesets I got decades ago ... those early small theater AUDs are fire

MiguelSanchez Oh man. I haven't listened to 4/4/94 in a long while. Need to queue that up. That Melt, Wolfman's, Wanna Be Like You Segment is soooo good

It's one of those shows where you know it must have been a blast to go to. One of the better tour openers in their career.
