Folks often say they show they saw is underrated by others. How often does anyone (but Icculus) criticize the show they saw, and praise another they didn't?

when you are actually at the show live it is a completely different experience than just listening to it. the atmosphere adds to the experience at a live show and that is why most people think shows that they actually attend are worth better reviews. if you sit down and listen to each shows mp3 snd board without having gone to any of the shows live, you will eliminate the bias that comes with the incredible atmosphere at a phish show. therefore, most people believe their shows they attend are better than the reviewers (who usually didnt attend) believe--when in reality they are biased by the overall experience into thinking the music was amazing. but dont get me wrong, its all relative, phish shows are always awesome but some are just better than others musically.
