I can only speak for the portion of the exerpt that I stopped maybe halfway through. If I was a high school English teacher, and a student wrote this, I'd be okay with it. Might even give them an A. But I wouldn't give them any money, and I certainly wouldn't add it to the curriculum. I will say it reads slightly better than The Mazerunner, but that was written for middle schoolers. Frankly it surprised me that the reviews for this "literature" weren't as harsh as the ones for the Dicks run!!
