Phish fan Cameron Parker won the hold'em Phamily Poker Classic earlier today in the Tropicana's poker room in Atlantic City. Cameron won $1727, a Halloween poster created by AJ Masthay, a TAB at the TAB CD autographed by Trey, and other prizes. The runner-up, Robert Goad, won $1172 -- and then promptly donated $300 of it to The Mockingbird Foundation!

The Foundation simply cannot thank organizers Kevin Young and Jamey Brill enough for their efforts in putting the tournament together. The Tropicana's poker managers were also gracious hosts of the event, which raised over $5000 for the Foundation. Erin Cadigan also created an impressive poster for the event, and some of those posters will be auctioned off shortly. (Erin was even on-hand at the tournament for awhile and signed many posters!)

We are also enormously grateful, of course, for the many non-cash prizes that were donated by so many folks, including Sonos.com, PHISH, AJ Masthay, The Mimi Fishman Foundation, LivePhish and Nugs.net, PhanArt Pete Mason, Alec Bradley Cigar Company, GrooveTV, Marty Acaster, Relix, Pauly of CoventryBlog, TuneUp Media, and Da Capo Press, the publisher of Parke Puterbaugh's Phish: The Biography. The prizes were raffled off over the course of the tournament, with one of the top prizes -- a wireless home audio system from Sonos.com -- being raffled off within the first half-hour, in order that almost all of the players would have a chance to win it.  (It was won by fan Chris Best!)

Finally, we would like to thank the players for entering the Phamily Poker Classic charity tournament in the first place, and selling it out in two weeks. Also, we are grateful to the bounty players for donating their time, and to the volunteers who helped run the raffle of the non-cash prizes. It was a fantastic event and we hope we can do it again one day!
