fhqwhgads This show sounds like it must have been immensely phun to attend in person. It's remarkable though, that so many smooth -> transitions were accomplished upon the second set. The first set is average-great, to be sure, but the second set is a Tweezerfest, and ipso facto an all-timer. I wish Phish were this nimble regarding segues at all times. But the third Tweezer of the second set is typically 2014 in jamming orientation, and no particular fallow ground is broken here. It's just a phun, segued set that displays why Phish is utterly unpredictable and followable. Some of the cognoscenti may feel that shows like this should remain rare treats, but myself I find that the novel, unique, and original aspects of Phish are what have caused me to become devoted to them in the first place, and that the more they display those attributes, the more satisfied I'll be. As a home listener and non-attender of shows since 2000, I'm not particularly concerned as to whether "the scene" becomes unwieldy, at least as long as Phish keeps making time-honored music that I can enjoy.
