Review by thelot

thelot Really nice sounding audience recording available for this show. It starts out a bit muffled during the first section of Buried Alive.

The Buried Alive/MSO pairing is bit odd to open things but both are well played. Beautiful Divided Sky. The first Tela of tour makes an appearance after it’s last outing in Colorado back in April. Well played Oh Kee Pa>Suzy with a nice little Chariots of Fire tease from Trey which he teases again in the Magilla that follows. Magilla slams into the first Wilson of tour. I Didn’t Know features Fish on trombone with no introduction from Trey on this version. The hi-hat hyjinx of Bowie has more Chariots of Fire teasing from Trey which leads into Mo’ Better Blues and some secret language action. Amazing version that takes UMass on a little journey to close out set 1.

The second set Coil opener has a tender little ending before landing into Tweezer. Solid Tweezer jam with surprisingly no secret language. The second Destiny Unbound is up next. Fiery version of Stash. Nice high energy Possum to close out the second half with some more Chariots of Fire teasing and a brief Destiny tease. Also, no secret language in Possum as well. I guess they used ‘em all up for Bowie. They start out the encore with a new tune, The Asse Festival. After a bit of a pause they decide to go with an oldie. Trey teases Chariots of Fire one more time for good measure before closing out Golgi. Excellent audience recording! Another big thanks goes out to John Redmond for preserving Phishtory! :)
