2019 saw the return of Page’s Vida Blue project after 15 years with the band releasing a new album, Crossing Lines, their first since 2002’s eponymous debut, as well as embarking on a brief run in mid-September of three shows along the East Coast beginning at the 9:30 Club in DC, then to the Philadelphia Fillmore, and finally at the Capitol Theater.
“Maybe” is a product of this reunion, the 6th song on the new album (featuring guitarist Adam Zimmon) and made the jump to the Phish stage for its only performance to date during the first set on 11/29/19 in Providence, RI, at the Dunkin Donuts Center. A deeply ambivalent reflection on the painful nature of relationships and the possibility of redemption, will “Maybe” ever return to live performances? The answer should be obvious.
