History

The second track from The Siket Disc documents the rehearsal space meanderings of a sparse guitar and bass rhythm through its metamorphism to a smooth cerebral groove inhabiting the ethers somewhere between “Manteca” and “Crosseyed and Painless.” “The Name Is Slick” thereby captures the essence of the state of Phish improvisation circa 2000 and beyond. Although the song has not been performed live to date, the essence of “The Name Is Slick” has permeated many of the exploratory on-stage moments.
